Abstract  Abstract

For example, P2P communication timing for an ad hoc network is a reference to external broadcast signals from terrestrial or satellite based transmitters. Wireless terminals seeking to communicate via P2P communication receive a reference broadcast signal and set their internal timing structure for that reference signal. This facilitates P2P timing adjustment. The wireless terminal transmits a signal identifying its presence, for example a user beacon signal, during the time period during which another wireless terminal is expected to be monitored. The use of reference signal based coordination timing and user beacon signals allows wireless terminals to maintain context awareness and coordinate P2P communications while keeping power consumption low, which allows wireless terminal modules to transmit and / or receive wireless terminals. This is because it can be powered down during certain periods in the adjusted timing structure that need not be done.

Ad hoc network, P2P communication, satellite-based transmitters, external broadcast signals, P2P timing adjustment
