Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A method capable of improving the performance of wireless communication by using a channel sounding is provided to estimate the current channel status efficiently by using a channel sounding response, thereby improving overall system performance in an OFDM-MIMO(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing-Multiple Input Multiple Output) system. CONSTITUTION: A method improving the performance of an OFDM-MIMO wireless communication comprises a step(102) transmitting a channel sounding request, steps(104,106) receiving a CSR(Channel Sounding Response) in which a short burst carrying determined information with predefined transmitting format by responding to the channel sounding request is a character, steps(108-112) analyzing CSR in order to determine a transmitting parameter setting, steps(114,116) adjusting the transmitting parameters and modulating subcarriers by using data of determined setting, and a step(118) transmitting data with the adjusted transmitting parameters. (Reference numerals) (102) Transmitter generates and transmits a channel sounding pulse request; (104) Receiver receives and processes the channel sounding pulse request; (106) Receiver generates and transmits a channel sounding response(CSR); (108) Transmitter receives and processes the CSR; (110) Transmitter measures the properties of a current channel condition; (112) Transmitter determines a transmitting parameter setting value; (112a) Maintaining a channel performance estimated value history; (114) Transmitter adjusts a transmitting parameter; (116) Transmitter modulates subcarriers; (118) Transmitter transmits to the receiver; (120) Transmitter generates a TFC signal; (AA) Start; (BB) End
