Abstract  Abstract

A wireless transceiver unit (WTRU) for implementing Space Frequency Block Coding (SFBC) for communications using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), the WTRU comprising: a channel coder adapted to perform channel coding on an input data stream; a multiplexer connected to the channel encoder adapted to multiplex the encoded data stream into two or more data streams; a power-load unit connected to the multiplexer and adapted to perform a power-load operation on each of the multiplexed data streams based on channel state information (CSI); a plurality of SFBC encoders connected to the power charging unit and adapted to perform SFBC encoding on the data streams for each pair of subcarriers; a plurality of serial-to-parallel converters connected to the plurality of SFBC encoders; a plurality of self-beamformers (self-beamformers) connected to the plurality of serial-to-parallel converters and adapted to perform self-beam shaping based on the CSI information to distribute the own beams to the plurality of transmission antennas; several Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) units, which are connected to the several self-beamformers and suitable for this purpose.
