Abstract  Abstract

A method for transmitting data using space and frequency block coding (SFBC) of multiple inputs / multiple outputs (MIMO), a method comprising: performing a channel coding in an input data stream; multiplex the data stream encoded into at least two data streams; obtain channel status information (CSI); classify own values by subcarrier; create own beams by grouping the same classified own values for all subcarriers; calculate an average eigenvalue of each of your own beams; group the own beams into pairs starting from a proper beam with a larger average eigenvalue so that if a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of a pair is greater than a maximum SNR, a second beam of the pair is replaced with a own with the next lowest average own value as long as the SNR of the pair is greater than a minimum SNR; determine a data rate for each of the own beams based on the SNR of the pair; perform an SFBC coding in the data streams with a pair of own beams; make a formation of own beams to distribute own beams to a plurality of transmission antennas; and perform a reverse Fourier transform to convert the data stream into data in the time domain for the transmission. An apparatus that employs the method is also disclosed.
