Abstract  Abstract

A multiplexing scheme of transport channels on one or more communication channels is adapted to operate in a normal mode and a compressed mode requiring a flow rate of lower symbols in which idle periods are provided in the communication channels. To adapt the flow rate on each of the transport channels is carried out punching of symbols in two steps: first we introduce marked symbols which undergo various treatments including interleaving with the other information bits before being removed from the transmitted sequence. These treatments can thus be carried out similarly to the normal mode and compressed mode which limits the complexity of the communicating entities.
