Abstract  Abstract

A diagram for transport channel multiplexing on one or several communication channels is adapted to operate in normal mode and compressed mode thereby requiring a more reliable symbol rate in which inactive periods are foreseen in the communication channels. In order to adapt rates on each of the transport channels symbols are stamped at two different times: marked symbols are initially introduced which undergo various processing steps particularly interleaving with other information bits before they are excluded from the transmitted sequence. Said processing steps can be similarly carried out in normal mode and compressed mode which limits entity complexity in communication.
