Abstract  Abstract

1. A method for reducing uplink feedback signal transmission for transmitting multimedia broadcast / multicast service (MBMS) data through a high speed downlink packet access channel (HSDPA) performed by a wireless transmit / receive device (WTRU) in communication with Node B, containing the stages in which! receiving a pre-assignment indication on the broadcast channel from the Node B indicating a pre-assigned time-frequency domain in the uplink channel for the WTRU to send MBMS feedback; and! provided that the MBMS feedback criterion is met, a predetermined packet is transmitted as MBMS feedback in a pre-assigned time-frequency domain. ! 2. The method according to claim 1, in which multiple areas of the channel are preassigned, wherein each area is assigned a corresponding MBMS feedback type. ! 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the MBMS feedback is a non-acknowledgment message (NACK message), a channel quality indicator (CQI), or a response to network counting or polling. ! 4. The method according to claim 3, in which the MBMS feedback includes sending the CQI to the Node B, provided that the conditions of the WTRU channel are not better than the current operating CQI value. ! 5. The method according to claim 4, in which the current operating CQI value is received by the WTRU in the HSDPA medium access control (MAC-hs) header. ! 6. The method according to claim 4, in which the current operating value of the CQI is received by the WTRU on the control channel of the service broadcast / multimedia multimedia transmission (MBMS) (MCCH). ! 7. The method according to claim 4, in which the current operating value
