Abstract  Abstract

SENDING AND REDUCING SIGNALING IN BACKFEED UPWARD CONNECTIONS FOR THE TRANSMISSION OF DATA MBM. The present invention relates to a method and to a system for sending and receiving signaling of backfeed of upward connections (uplink) by a unit for transmitting and receiving wireless (WTRU) which relates to a data transmission of multimedia broadcast multi cast service (MBMS) over a voice channel connections in packet access downlink (downlink) of high speed (HSDPA). A node_b can allocate a time frequency region or a common code to the backfeed. A triggering criterion for reporting the indicator of channel quality indicator (CQI) is set and the WTRU sends a CQI to the node_b only if the triggering criterion is satisfied. The triggering criterion may be a value in a given time in nó-b. Or based on statistic repetition of error or a preset period of time. A method of reducing backfeed related to ACK/NAK includes the WTRU sending an indication of an average number of transmissions that are needed to successfully decode the data instead of sending an ACK/NAK for each transmission interval.

The present invention is related to a method and system for sending and reducing uplink feedback signaling by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) related to transmission of multimedia broadcast multi cast service (MBMS) data over a high speed down link packet access (HSDPA) channel. A Node B may pre-allocate a time frequency region or a common channelization code for the feedback. A triggering criterion for reporting a channel quality indicator (CQI) is set and WTRUs send a CQI to a Node B only if the triggering criterion is satisfied. The triggering criterion may be a current operating CQI value at the Node B or based on erroneous transport block reception statistics or a predetermined time period. A feedback reduction method related to ACK/NACK includes the WTRU sending an indication of an average number of transmissions needed to successfully decode the data instead of sending an ACK/NACK for every transmission interval.
