Abstract  Abstract

This is related to a method and system for the emission and reduction of the uplink feedback signaling, by a wireless transmission and reception unit (WTRU), for the transmission of data from broadcast services of multiple proven destinations of Multimedia (MBMS) over a high-speed downlink packet (HSDPA) access channel. A Node B can preassign a region of time and frequency or a common channelization code for feedback. An activation criterion is established for the notification of the channel quality indicator (CQI) and the WTRUs send the CQI to a Node B only if the activation criteria is met. The activation criterion can be a current CQI value of operation in node B, based on the statistics of reception of erroneous transport blocks or a predetermined period of time. A feedback reduction method related to the response for ACK / NACK includes the WTRU sending the indication of at least one of an average number of transmissions needed to successfully decode the data instead of issuing an ACK / NACK response to Each transmission interval.
