Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A device for transmitting and receiving a response signal which supports an HARQ (hybrid automatic repeat request) in a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to supply a diversity gain in a frequency domain and a time domain. CONSTITUTION: A first resource set for ACK/NACK(acknowledge/negative acknowledge) transmission maps a CDM(Code-Division Multiplexing) segment with a first OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple) symbol(508). The first resource set for ACK/NACK transmission maps the CDM segment with a second OFDM symbol(514). The first resource set for ACK/NACK transmission maps the CDM segment with a third OFDM symbol twice(518,522). A second resource set for ACK/NACK transmission maps the CDM segment with the first OFDM symbol(512). The second resource set for ACK/NACK transmission maps the CDM segment with the second OFDM symbol twice(516,524). The second resource set for ACK/NACK transmission maps the CDM segment with the third OFDM symbol(520). (Reference numerals) (AA) In an ACK/NACK resource set #1, a CDM segment repeatedly transmitted n times; (BB) In an ACK/NACK resource set #2, a CDM segment repeatedly transmitted n times
