The present invention relates to a method of configuring a context for a connection for transmitting a packet data service to a mobile terminal via a target radio access network. The mobile terminal is initially connected to the starting radio access network, and the packet data service is supplied to the mobile terminal via the starting radio network. The present invention also provides an authentication server, a packet data gateway and a packet data service support node related to a context configuration method. The present invention prior to connecting a mobile terminal to a target radio access network to provide a method for establishing a connection for transmitting packet services from a radio access network to a mobile terminal as fast as possible, as in the example of UMTS. By establishing a context, we propose to preset service provision of packet data via a target radio access network.
