Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for providing a device, missing the subscriber identifier information, with access to the EPC network.SOLUTION: A capillary network device (i.e., international mobile telephone subscriber identification number (IMSI) less device) can be connected with an evolutionary packet core (EPC) network through a home WLAN308. The WLAN308 is configured so that the responsibility for traffic is accepted by a home owner. Alternatively, when the traffic is sponsored by the application server, or when the traffic is compensated by the network operator, the fact that the traffic may be enabled is shown on the network. When an IMSI-less device is in business relationship with the network operator, the WLAN308 allows the device to be authenticated by the network, and to acquire the device identifier from the network.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
