Abstract  Abstract

A method for mapping the correspondence of an enhanced physical downlink control channel, ePDCCH, to physical resource blocks in a radio frame in an enhanced Node B, eNB, comprising: mapping (610) of modulated symbols on the eNB on the ePDCCH channel to consecutive control channel elements, CCE; effect mapping (630, 640) of the CCEs to resource elements in a plurality of physical resource blocks distributed in a sub-frame, where each pair of physical resource blocks distributed in the plurality of physical resource blocks distributed is separated in frequency from another pair of physical resource blocks distributed by at least one additional physical resource block in the sub-frame and by a frequency that is at least twice a coherent bandwidth of a carrier frequency of the ePDCCH, wherein A group of resource elements is formed into a single pair of physical resource blocks distributed in the plurality of distributed physical resource blocks, and the group of resource elements includes resource elements distributed in time and frequency for the ePDCCH channel; and applying (650) the mapping of consecutive CCEs to resource elements of the respective resource element group to control data for scheduling to form an ePDCCH configured to communicate from the eNB to a user equipment, UE.
