Abstract  Abstract

A method for activating and deactivating component vectors is disclosed. The method comprises receiving resource allocation information comprising a plurality of bits indicating on- or off-state states of the corresponding downlink component operators, with the downlink component carriers being secondary downstream components always on a downlink activated, with each downlink component carrier corresponding to a bit included in the set of bits, and with one bit indicating that a corresponding downlink component carrier is to be switched on or off, where when any bit between that the corresponding secondary component of this component should be activated, the plurality of bits further indicate a transmission request with a reference audio signal, SRS. The method comprises a further step of activating or deactivating each of the downlink component carriers according to the resource allocation information, and then transmits an SRS transmission to the activated secondary component carrier (s).
