Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for indicating a temporary block flow (TBF) to which a supported confirmation / non-confirmation field (PAN) is directed is disclosed. A sequence can be generated from a temporal flow identity (TFI) to which the PAN field is directed and masked with a PAN verification sequence (PCS). A radio block that includes a PAN field and a masked PCS is transmitted. The PCS may be masked with one of the TFIs that is selected according to a pre-agreed standard. A secondary identifier can indicate a TBF to which the PAN field is directed. A special value can be used to represent all assigned TBFs and a secondary identifier can indicate a TBF to which the PAN field is directed. A special value can be used on the PAN field for control purposes in order to indicate an action that affects a group of receiving stations listening to the radio block.
