Abstract
1. A method for performing radio usage measurements to support radio communications operations, comprising the steps of: Developed Node B (eNB) determining a first radio usage parameter, the first radio usage parameter comprising a radio usage measurement between the eNB and at least one user equipment (UE); the eNB defines a second radio usage parameter, the second radio usage parameter comprising a measurement of radio usage between the eNB and at least one relay node (RN), serving eNB; an eNB measures the number of active downlink (UE) UEs with a DL connection via an eNB, wherein the number of DL active UEs excludes UEs connected to an RN; an eNB measures the number of active uplink (UL) UEs with a UL connection via an eNB, wherein the number of UL active UEs excludes UEs connected to the RN; the eNB uses at least one of the first radio usage parameter or the second radio usage parameter to evaluate at least one of the enhanced universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) radio communications, radio resource management (RRM), operation and maintenance (OAM) networks, or functions or functionalities of self-organizing networks (SON) .2. The method according to claim 1, in which the second measurement of the use of radio is a measurement of the use of physical resource block (PRB) downlink (DL) for traffic on the Un interface. The method according to claim 1, in which the second measurement of the use of radio is a measurement of the use of physical resource block (PRB) of the uplink (UL) over QCI for traffic on the Un interface. The method of claim 1, wherein the second measurement is used.
