Abstract  Abstract

Method and apparatus for delivering discontinuous data blocks in enhanced uplink (EU) transmission. The wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU) and one or more Node-Bs include one or more automatic repeat request (ARQ) / hybrid-ARQ (H-ARQ) processes that support Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH). The data blocks transmitted by the WTRUs are rearranged at the rearrangement entity located at the Node-B or Radio Network Controller (RNC). Once the missing data block is identified, the node-B or RNCs data delivery timer is started and subsequent WTRU transmissions are monitored to determine whether the missing data block has been discarded by the WTRU. When recognizing discarding of missing data blocks, discontinuous data blocks are delivered to the upper layer.
