Abstract  Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for informing an eNodeB of a transmission power state of a user equipment in a mobile communication system using component carrier (CC) aggregation. The present invention also relates to hardware implementation and software implementation of these methods. The present invention proposes a procedure for informing the eNodeB of the power usage state of the UE in a communication system using carrier aggregation. The UE informs the eNodeB when it is close to the use of the total maximum UE transmission power, that is, when the threshold is exceeded. This is accomplished by including in the one or more protocol data units transmitted in each component carrier within one subframe an indicator that provides power state information to the eNodeB and / or a new MAC CE. MAC CE can report power headroom per UE. Alternatively, the MAC CE may report the power headroom per CC and / or the amount of power reduction applied to each uplink CC.
