A user equipment, EU, (402) configured to establish a connection with an Enhanced Packet Core, EPC, (406, 408, 410, 412) through a reliable connection with a wireless local area network, WLAN (404 ), the EU (402) comprising processing circuits arranged to: obtain (416), from the WLAN (404), a list of supported land mobile public networks, PLMN (414); conduct a security exchange (420) with the WLAN (404); receive authentication information (424) of security exchange results (420); establish, through the use of one or more containers provided in the Access Network Consultation Protocol, ANQP, communications, connection parameters (432) to the WLAN (404) for an EPC (406, 408, 410, 412) of one of the PLMN (414); request (434) an Internet protocol address, IP, within an ANQP container (432); receive (446), through the use of one or more containers provided in ANQP communications, WLAN configuration parameters including an assigned IP address (440); and implement the configuration parameters and conduct communications (448) with the WLAN according to the configuration parameters; where the EU communicates with the WLAN according to a standard of the IEEE 802.11 family of standards, and where the EPC is provided by a Wireless Wide Area Network, WWAN, which operates according to a Long Term Evolution Standard, LTE, by its acronym in English, or Advanced Long Term Evolution, LTE-A, by its acronym in English.
