Method and apparatus for distribution and reception of content

Abstract

The invention claims a method and device for content distribution and receiving . a quality function of content objects can be sent to intermediate cache proxy server and/or receiver. quality function provides for the function relation between at least two quality metrics of the content object to make the quality of perception of the content object at the receiver based on the quality function is estimated. the quality function can is described by polynomial sequence and/or a set of average values and standard deviation. the quality function may be included in the dynamic adaptive flow for through HTTP (DASH) stream of a media presentation description (MPD) or for real time streaming protocol (RTSP) stream of the real-time control protocol (RTCP) sender report or session description protocol (SDP) message.
