Abstract  Abstract

Provided are a reference signal configuration method and device. The method includes: for each band in N bands with identical carrier frequency configuring the reference signal information corresponding to each band according to the measurement demand respectively so that the reference signal density of the reference signal information about at least two bands in the configured N bands is different wherein N is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2 the reference signal information refers to information required to generate a reference signal and the reference signal density refers to the distribution density in the time domain or in the frequency domain of the reference signal or the pattern of the reference signal; notifying user equipment of the reference signal information so that the user equipment carries out channel measurement according to the reference signal information. In the embodiments of the present invention the reference signal information is designed pointedly according to different measurement demands of different bands reducing the overhead of the reference signal while ensuring the measurement accuracy of the reference signal.
