Abstract  Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide a channel measurement method and apparatus. The method includes: configuring for each frequency band of N frequency bands having a same carrier frequency according to a measurement demand reference signal information corresponding to each frequency band so that reference signal densities included in configured reference signal information of at least two frequency bands of the N frequency bands are different where N is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2 the reference signal information refers to information required to generate a reference signal the reference signal density refers to a distribution density on a time domain or a distribution density on a frequency domain of the reference signal or a pattern of the reference signal; and notifying a user equipment of the reference signal information so that the user equipment performs channel measurement according to the reference signal information.
