1. A method for transmitting data by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
transmitting, to a base station, a scheduling request for requesting resources for transmitting a buffer status report; monitoring a control channel to receive resource allocation information; starting a timer for monitoring the control channel if the resource allocation information is received via the control channel; transmitting, to the base station, the buffer status report based on the resource allocation information; and stopping monitoring of the control channel if the timer is expired or a command is received from the base station.
2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
starting a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation using one of a first DRX cycle and a second DRX cycle, wherein a length of the first DRX cycle is different from a length of the second DRX cycle.
3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
transmitting, to the base station, data based on the resource allocation information; and receiving, from the base station, feedback information corresponding to the data after the transmission of the data.
4. A terminal for transmitting data in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:
a transceiver; and a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to control to:
transmit, to a base station, a scheduling request for requesting resources for transmitting a buffer status report;
monitor a control channel to receive resource allocation information;
start a timer for monitoring the control channel if the resource allocation information is received via the control channel;
transmit, to the base station, the buffer status report based on the resource allocation information; and
stop monitoring of the control channel if the timer is expired or a command is received from the base station.
5. The terminal of claim 4,
wherein the controller further controls to start a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation using one of a first DRX cycle and a second DRX cycle, and wherein a length of the first DRX cycle is different from a length of the second DRX cycle.
6. The terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to control to:
transmit, to the base station, data based on the resource allocation information; and receive, from the base station, feedback information corresponding to the data after the transmission of the data.
7. A method of receiving data by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
receiving, from a terminal, a scheduling request for requesting resources for transmitting a buffer status report; transmitting, to the terminal, resource allocation information for transmitting the buffer status report via a control channel; receiving, from the terminal, the buffer status report based on the resource allocation information; and transmitting, to the terminal, a command for stopping the monitoring of the control channel, wherein a timer for monitoring the control channel is started by the terminal if the resource allocation information is received by the terminal via the control channel.
8. The method of claim 7,
wherein a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation using one of a first DRX cycle and a second DRX cycle is started by the terminal if the timer is expired or the command is transmitted to the terminal, and wherein a length of the first DRX cycle is different from a length of the second DRX cycle.
9. The method of claim 7, further comprising:
receiving, from the terminal, data based on the resource allocation information; and transmitting, to the terminal, feedback information corresponding to the data after the reception of the data.
10. A base station for receiving data in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:
a transceiver; and a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to control to:
receive, from a terminal, a scheduling request for requesting resources for transmitting a buffer status report;
transmit, to the terminal, resource allocation information for transmitting the buffer status report via a control channel;
receive, from the terminal, the buffer status report based on the resource allocation information; and
transmit, to the terminal, a command for stopping the monitoring of the control channel,
wherein a timer for monitoring the control channel is started by the terminal if the resource allocation information is received by the terminal via the control channel.
11. The base station of claim 10,
wherein a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation using one of a first DRX cycle and a second DRX cycle is started by the terminal if the timer is expired or the command is transmitted to the terminal, and wherein a length of the first DRX cycle is different from a length of the second DRX cycle.
12. The base station of claim 10, wherein the controller is further configured to control to:
receive, from the terminal, data based on the resource allocation information; and transmit, to the terminal, feedback information corresponding to the data after the reception of the data.
