Abstract  Abstract

An embodiment that provides an architecture for WebRTC to access an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is generally disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a non-IMS user equipment (UE) is provided with an Application Signaling Interworking Function (ASIF) located co-located with a non-IMS UE. The non-IMS UE is configured to send a registration message to the ASIF to register the non-IMS UE with the IMS core. The ASIF is configured to convert the registration message from the non-IMS UE into IMS-based signaling and register the non-IMS UE with the IMS core using the registration message converted to IMS-based signaling.
