Embodiments of the present invention describe devices, methods, computer readable media and system configurations for the communication of notifications of unexpected power outages of machine-to-machine (M2M) devices between network entities. In various embodiments, the M2M device may be configured to detect an unexpected power outage and notify the wireless network access node of the detected unexpected power outage.
