Abstract  Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and system that can reuse time slots designed in a wireless communication system as a common physical channel (CPCH) timeslot for user traffic. The CPCH timeslots used for the first cell 102 can be reused by the second cell 104 on the assumption that the first and second cells transmit control information to other CPCH timeslots for user traffic. The second cell allows the first cell to reuse the timeslot for transmitting control information as long as the reuse of the timeslot of the second cell does not degrade the reception of control information in the first cell.
