Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system in which time slots designated in a wireless communication system as Common Physical Channel (CPCH) timeslots may be reused for user traffic.

SOLUTION: A CPCH timeslot used in a first cell (102) may be reused by a second cell (104) assuming the first and second cells transmit control information in different CPCH timeslots for user traffic. The second cell is permitted to reuse the time slot in which the first cell is transmitting control information so long as the second cells reuse of that time slot does not degrade reception of control information in the first cell.
