Abstract  Abstract

A method and an apparatus for allocating and signaling ACK/NACK(positive Acknowledgement/Negative Acknowledgement) resources in a wireless communication system are provided to optimize the overhead for signaling information on ACK/NACK channel resources. In case of a non-persistent scheduling(211), the scheduling information relating to each data channel is transmitted through the each corresponded scheduling control channel(203). One SCCH(Scheduling Control Channel) is a physical layer control channel containing the scheduling information relating to one data channel. The ACK/NACK channel resources for transmitting the ACK/NACK information relating to the data channel are determined by the index of the SCCH implicitly. Accordingly, different data channels are mapped into the different ACKCH(ACK/NACK Channel)s(207) allocated to the fixed size resource group(209).
