Abstract
The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for handing over to a serving network. The method includes receiving a first Handover Request sent by the BSC / RNC and sending a second Handover Request to the target MME according to the first Handover Request, wherein the second Handover Request determines the IMSI and the source SGSN. The target MME sends a Context Request message with IMSI to the source SGSN and receives UE context information corresponding to the IMSI sent by the source SGSN; Have This apparatus has an MSC server, SGSN, MME, and BSC / RNC. The method and apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention allows the MSC server and SGSN to communicate with the same MME in the rSRVCC handover process by querying the source SGSN for context information by utilizing the MME determined by the MSC server.
