Abstract  Abstract

An evolved master node (202, 203) B, MeNB, configured for dual connectivity that is operable to reduce packet retransmissions, the MeNB that has computer circuitry configured to: receive one or more acknowledgments, ACK, from a computer user, UE, indicating the packets that were successfully received in the UE, packets transmitted from an evolved secondary node B, SeNB; receive, from the SeNB, package delivery information for the SeNB; receive an indication from the SeNB of a loss of connection of the air interface between the SeNB and the UE; Identify the remaining packages that were not sent from the SeNB to the UE based, in part, on the ACKs received from the UE and the package delivery information received from the SeNB, where the remaining packages are not sent to the UE due to loss of connection between the SeNB and the UE; and send the remaining packets from the MeNB to the UE.
