Abstract  Abstract

The described embodiments relate generally to reliable delivery of paging messages in a wireless network environment. To avoid unacceptable delays in the delivery of paging messages to the UE, the number of paging opportunities that will occur during the paging cycle may be increased. The UE may access a lookup table indicating paging opportunities for a paging cycle. The paging opportunity may correspond to a subframe of a paging frame that includes a paging message. The UE may then detect the paging message in a corresponding subframe of the paging frame corresponding to the paging opportunity. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
