Abstract  Abstract

A method and an apparatus allow reliable and low complexity decoding of communication bursts. EGPRS2 when the RTTI and BTTI teams operate in the same time segment (s). There are several configurations for mapping the uplink status flag (USF) that use the adjustable bit swap of some or all of the bits encoded by the USF channel, in communication bursts. Also described are configurations that allow an adjustable use of the symbol mapping stage in the transmitter and receiver to allow for more performance and / or reduced complexity. The allowable mapping rules are known to the receiver and the Y transmitter, consequently, reduce the complexity of decoding this information. To increase the performance of EGPRS2 communication bursts, RTTI transmissions of different modulation types or EGPRS / EGPRS2 coding and modulation schemes during an interval of the BTTI are introduced to allow reliable decoding of the USF and a decoder complexity reduced
