Abstract  Abstract

A method for transmitting data in a mobile communication system comprises the steps of: when not receiving a status report for a certain time after the initial transmission of a polling PDU generating an RLC PDU that informs the retransmission of the initially transmitted polling PDU; and transmitting the RLC PDU that informs the retransmission of the generated polling PDU. The process of generating the RLC PDU that informs the retransmission of the polling PDU comprises the steps of: dividing the initially transmitted polling PDU into a certain number of segments to retransmit the segments of the polling PDU; setting up the payload size of a certain segment among those segments as 0; and setting up the segment whose payload size is 0 as the RLC PDU that informs the retransmission of the polling PDU wherein the segment whose payload size is 0 may be the first or last segment among those segments.
