Abstract
An apparatus and a method for retransmitting a packet data unit and reporting a state in a mobile communication system are provided to reduce the added delay when generating a status report after receiving a falling PDU(Packet Data Unit) retransmitted by the completion of a falling timer. An RLC PDU setting a falling bit to YED is received(605). Whether the RLC PDU is the PDU retransmitted and divided from the arbitrary RLC PDU and a final segment is checked(610). The RLC device checks whether the payload is included in the RLC PDU(615).
