The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for controlling transmitting power and relates to the field of communications. The method includes: setting according to a transmission state of data transmission using a first access technology a power reduction value of transmitting power for data transmission using a second access technology; and controlling according to the power reduction value transmitting power for data transmission using the second access technology.
