A method for service activation in Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) includes: a Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) receiving a request for creating MBMS UE context from a User Equipment (UE) which needs to receive an MBMS bearer service; the SGSN creating an MBMS UE context, and sending a Create MBMS Context Request; a Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) which received the Create MBMS Context Request sending an MBMS Authorization Request for authorization; a Broadcast/Multicast Service Center (BM-SC) which received the MBMS Authorization Request creating an MBMS UE context; the GGSN creating an MBMS UE context. A method for service activation in MBMS, in this method the GGSN sends a Create MBMS Context Indication. And the present invention also provides another method for service activation in MBMS.
