Abstract  Abstract

FIELD: information technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: method for tracking area (TA) allocation is suggested in which mobility status of wireless transmitting/receiving module (WTRU) is determined and TA is allocated based on determined mobility status. Also method for implementation of access to TA closed subscriber group (CSG) TA is suggested. TA CSG identifier is received in WTRU and stored. Broadcast transmission TA CSG is received and transmitted in broadcast mode TA CSG is accessed if identifier of transmitted in broadcast mode TA CSG coincides with stored TA CSG identifier. Also method of WTRU mobility status change is disclosed. Current WTRU mobility status is determined and predetermined WTRU factor is analysed. Predetermined factor is evaluated in order to determine if the factor has overcome threshold and mobility status is changed based on evaluated factor. ^ EFFECT: providing communications system with information on mobility and location to facilitate tracking area localisation and achieving optimal for communications system load Longterm development of balance between paging operations in the system and updating tracking area. ^ 8 cl 7 dwg
