1. A method implemented in a wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU), said method comprising: receiving a system information message from a cell, said system information message including: indicating a closed subscriber group (CSG), which indicates that said cell is a CSG hundredth; and CSG identifier (ID) that identifies the CSG cell; attempting to communicate with the CSG cell, provided that the CSG ID is included in the list of allowed CSG cells stored in the WTRU. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the CSG indication is 1-bit. The method of claim 1, further comprising: receiving a list of allowed CSG cells from the network before attempting to communicate with the CSG cell. The method of claim 1, further comprising: transmitting a handover request, wherein the handover request includes a CSG ID and a request for a handover command; receiving a handover command in response to a handover request; and performing handover in the CSG cell in response to a handover command. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the system information message further includes an operator code that identifies a CSG cell operator. A wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU), comprising: a receiver configured to receive a system information message from a cell, said system information message including: an indication of a closed subscriber group (CSG), which indicates that said cell is a CSG cell; and CSG identifier (ID) that identifies the CSG cell; a processor and transmitter configured to attempt communication with the CSG cell, provided that the CSG ID is included in the list of allowed CSG cells stored in the WTRU. 7.
