Abstract
Uplink (UP) and downlink (DL) in a long term evolution (LTE) wireless communication system including at least one wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU) and at least one evolved Node-B (eNodeB) A method and apparatus are disclosed for detecting a radio link (RL) failure for an < RTI ID = 0.0 > A determination is made as to whether the RL has an in-synchronization state or an out-of-synchronization state. An RL fault is declared when a synchronization mismatch condition is detected.
