Abstract  Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and a corresponding product for switching a mobile communication unit from a first communication node to a second communication node. The method according to the invention has the following steps. The mobile communication unit sends a routing area update request to the second communication node. The second communication node then sends a request context to the first communication node. The first communication node then sends a response context to the second communication node. The second communication node then participates in a security function. The second communication node then sends an acknowledgment context to the first communication node to indicate that it has control over the mobile communication unit.
