Abstract
A method and apparatus are provided for performing inter-user equipment transfer (IUT) over an internet protocol (IP) based network. This framework enables preparation, execution, and completion of data transfer at the target device through registration with the Local Mobility Anchor (LMA) and receipt of IUT requests. The target device receives and stores the IP address or source device. The IP address is used for transmission of session information.
