Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for an uplink data retransmission in a code division multiple access (CDMA) communication system.

SOLUTION: The CDMA communication system includes a base station user equipment located in a region of the base station a neighboring station being adjacent to the base station and having a soft handover region where the neighboring station overlaps with the base station and a radio network controller connected to the base station and the neighboring station. When the UE is located in a non-soft handover region in the soft handover region of the base station it transmits uplink data to the base station for a predetermined first transmission time interval. When the UE is located in the soft handover region it transmits the uplink data to the base station and the neighboring station for a predetermined second transmission time interval different from the first transmission time interval.
