Abstract
A method an apparatus and a communication system for a group call are disclosed in embodiments of the present invention. The method includes: receiving by a mobile switching center MSC request information for setting up a group call sent by a mobile station MS where the MSC is located in an MSC pool; and the MSC serves the group call according to the request information; a group call register GCR connected with any MSC in the MSC pool includes attribute information of the group call; the attribute information is used to enable any MSC in the MSC pool to have functions of a serving MSC that serves the group call; and the serving MSC is an anchor MSC in the MSC pool or the serving MSC is a relay MSC in the MSC pool.
