Abstract  Abstract

A method a device and a system for call handover and call processing are provided. The method for call handover includes the following steps. An add endpoint request message is sent to a media gateway (MGW) in which the add endpoint request message carries endpoint information about a Time Division Multiple (TDM) type and codec information that corresponds to the TDM type and endpoint information about an Internet Protocol (IP) type and codec information that corresponds to the IP type. An add endpoint reply message indicating that the MGW successfully establishes a TDM endpoint and an IP endpoint is received and a Handover Request message carrying a circuit identifier code (CIC) information element and the endpoint information about an IP type is sent to a target Base Station Controller (BSC). A Handover Request Acknowledge message carrying the endpoint information about a TDM type or the endpoint information about an IP type returned by the target BSC is received. A call failure case caused by different between TDM endpoints individually assigned by the target BSC and a core network (CN) side can be prevented thereby increasing a call success rate.
