The invention claims a method and apparatus for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) of a sounding reference signal (SRS) power control. the method and apparatus include the WTRU using the carrier aggregation technology specified for the carrier and carrier-common SRS power control method and device. the method and apparatus further comprises using the carrier aggregation and time division multiplexing (TDM) technology in the WTRU for SRS power control method and device. In addition the method and apparatus comprises means for using the method and device of multiple input WTRU SRS power control multiple output (MIMO) operation. Also disclosed are methods for WTRU SRS overhead reduction and power management method and apparatus.
