Abstract  Abstract

Method and system for reporting capability of evolved UTRAN. Described are a method and system for reporting capability of radio access network of the universal mobile telecommunications system land (WTRU) evoluida (E-UTRAN). Unit for transmitting and receiving without wire (WTRU) sends first message to core network (CN) to report the capabilities of E-UTRAN of WTRU. The CN then updates the capabilities of the WTRU based on the first message. The first message may include the information element (IE) radio access capability information relating to capabilities that leads E-UTRAN of WTRU and/or a network capability IE which conveys information regarding network capabilities of WTRU. The CN sends a second message to the WTRU to report network capabilities with respect to the radio access networks (sans) to which the core network is connected and services that can be provided by means of E-UTRAN.
