Abstract

The methods and apparatus for improved operation of multiple users reusing a slot (MUROS) include two or more wireless transmission / reception units (WTRUs) multiplexed over multiple sub-channels in a single time slot. The address information included in layer two headers, radio resource control messages (RRC), and layer one parameters in an SACCH / FACCH transmission indicate that the transmission is destined for a particular WTRU. A FACCH broadcast can be sent over a sub-channel reserved for another WTRU. Theft bits can be set in a voice frame to indicate that the FACCH transmission is destined for a WTRU on the sub-channel reserved for another WTRU. The different WTRUs in a multiplexed group can be configured to decode layer one parameters in a SACCH according to alternating patterns.
