Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for the indication of a temporary block flow (TBF) to which a cascading connection reception / non-reception confirmation (PAN) response field is assigned. A method and an apparatus for performing the reception process that reduce the probability of false reception of erroneous PANs are also revealed. A transmitting station generates a confirmation sequence of the PAN (PCS) and performs the coding of the channel over the field of the PAN and the PCS.The transmitting station randomizes the encoded bits of the PAN and PCS field with a randomization code TBF specific. Due to the randomization, the decoding of the PCS in a receiving station will occur if the data block is received by the intended receiving station, while decoding will not occur in the PCS if it is received by an undesignated receiving station. Alternatively, randomization can be performed before channel coding. Alternatively, the transmitting station can combine the PAN field and a TFI to generate the PCS.
