A method for setting up GSM bearing, which comprises: media gateway receiving add wireless side terminal message, allocating IP address and port for the call and sending out acknowledge message including IP address and port allocated for the call; media gateway acquiring IP address and port allocated by the base station controller through the mobile switch center, and setting up IP-based bearing connected with the base station controller. The present invention also discloses an apparatus and a system for setting up GSM bearing. According to the present invention, it could be implemented to work without TC in the whole or partial link, to avoid voice quality decline and transmission delay suffering from frequent voice code transferring and to economize both the TC resources and the transmission resources.
