A method for assigning a dedicated uplink for a user in a trunking group is disclosed. The trunking system network side assigns up group calling channel to the trunking group when the group calling of the trunking group establishes the method includes: the trunking system network side assigns the user to the allocated up group calling channel to speaking after receiving the up access request of the user at the same time it establishes the dedicated uplink allocated to the user when the dedicated uplink is established the trunking system network side assigns the user who are using the up group calling channel currently to the dedicated uplink. The method assigns dedicated uplinks for speaking to the users without increasing the users speaking time delay. The method could assigns dedicated uplink for the high priority user to speak without increasing the high priority users speaking time delay.
